The Yawn Song (You’re Gonna Yawn )  Lyrics:

You’re gonna yawnbefore this song is over

You’re gonna yawn before this song is gone
You can try with all your might
But I know that I am right
Here it comes you’re about to yawn

You’re gonna yawn before this song is finished
You’re gonna yawn before this song is thru
You can give it all you’ve got
But you’ll still yawn, maybe a lot
Here comes a big yawn right now from you

You’re gonna yawn before this song has ended
You’re gonna yawn before this song is done
You can try to resist or hide all your yawns with your fist
Just yawn now cuz there’s no where to run

You’re gonna yawn before this song is over
You’re gonna yawn before this song is gone
You can try with all your might
But I know that I am right
If you haven’t yawned yet you’re about to yawn
If you haven’t yawned yet you’re about to yawn

The Name of My Frog: Lyrics
I have a bunny named bunny and a rat named rat
A bird named bird and a cat named cat
A ferret named ferret and a dog named dog
So you can probably guess the name of my frog:

CHORUS:
Francis Felix Fenton Fabian       Finley Farnsworth Falco Fallon
Flannigan  Fairfax  Freddy McGrog    Farley Fernando the Frog

V2
I have a hamster named hamster and a fish named fish
A horse named horse- not really but I wish
A crab named crab and a snail named bob
That’s another song, but the name of my frog: is

CHORUS
V3
I have a lizard named lizard and a snake named snake
A Himalayan Guinea Pig I just call Jake
A parrot named parrot who goes with me when I jog
And who won’t stop saying the name of my frog:

CHORUS
V4
I have a mouse named gerbil and a gerbil named mouse
The night that I named them it was dark in the house
A cute little piggy that I call Dr. hog
But do you remember the name of my frog?

Lyrics to I’ve Got Issues With Your Tissues:

I’ve got issues with your tissues   how you throw them on the floor
I’ve got issues with your tissues   please don’t do that any more
I’ve got issues with your tissues   that’s not what a floor is for
If you don’t take heed then I might need   to stick them on your door

2.
I’ve got issues with your tissues   and I wanted you to know
I’ve got issues with your tissues    you should put them where they go
I’ve got issues with your tissues   so the next time that you blow
Would it be a crime to take the time   to make sure they don’t show

C   Bridge
Everybody now and then     needs to clean their nose
But there’s really just one place    where that grossness goes
2nd time thru: [and that place is not between my toes]

3.
I’ve got issues with your tissues         I’m sorry to repeat
I’ve got issues with your tissues   when they meet my naked feet
I’ve got issues with your tissues   when they’re crumpled where I eat
To find them there or anywhere   is not much of a treat

4.
I’ve got issues with your tissues        I’m sorry to complain
I’ve got issues with your tissues    yes they’re really quite a pain
I’ve got issues with your tissues    Is it really such a strain
To do your best with my request     You’re driving me insane

Lyrics to the Homework Song

1.
Before I answer the question
Did I do my homework
I’d like to take this opportunity to say
You’re the greatest teacher
That I’ve ever had
Understanding and forgiving
especially today

2.
And if they gave a Nobel prize For really cool teachers
I’m sure you would win it Because you’re really cool
Especially how nice you are When someone doesn’t do their homework
That makes you the greatest teacher In this whole great school

3.
Just as an example Of how you’re the coolest teacher
If someone told you right now they didn’t get their homework done
You’d probly give them extra Extra extra credit
Just for being honest And then say go have fun

4.
Now I can’t remember The question that you asked me
But you look really nice today Of course you always do
Anyway, I guess we should let you get back to teaching
All the kids are waiting But it was great talking to you
Yes all the kids are waiting to learn from a great teacher like you

Lyrics to The Sweeter the Dawn

A cold winter night Not long ago
Deep in a forest in fresh fallen snow
The stars were as bright as the eyes of a fawn
Cuddled close to her mother, awaiting the dawn

Mamma I’m cold. Baby, I know
Soon the sun will rise and your shivers will go
And this bitter wind, it will be gone
The colder the night the sweeter the dawn

A baby bunny was hopping near by
Mamma and fawn, they heard him cry
Come here little bunny Tell us what’s wrong
Why are you out in this wind cold and strong

The bunny hopped over, sniffled and said
I wish I was home, all snug in my bed
But I lost my family somewhere in the storm
Now I’m all alone, and not very warm

Sweet heart it’s too cold to be out alone
Tomorrow we’ll find them But tonight we’re your home
Come cuddle with us, the sun won’t be long
The colder the night the sweeter the dawn

They cuddled and waited for the morning light
And little by little the sky became bright
The sun warmed their faces, and then said the fawn
The colder the night the sweeter the dawn
The sun warmed their faces, and then said the fawn
The colder the night the sweeter the dawn

Lyrics to Paula the Koala:

Here are the lyrics to the funny song Paula the Koala:

Paula the koala
She moved to Guatemala
Cuz she heard the trees there were a little taller
Turned out they were smaller
So she moved to lake eufuala
Then to Walla Walla Washington

So if you live in Walla Walla
And you see a koala
You can bet your bottom dollar
That koala’s name is Paula
Paula the koala
Who lives in walla walla
Walla walla Washington

She’s cute
She’s kind
She just might be the best marsupial that you could ever find
She’s sweet She’s smart
She’s a smalla with a great big heart

Puddly-the-Penguin-book cover-40 percent

A young penguin and a young dolphin both lose their way. And find each other. But can they help each other find their way back home? Filled with humor and heart, “Puddly the Penguin” is an uplifting and inspiring story for all ages.

3/26/2013

A few years ago, I was playing around with my guitar one night, thinking of song ideas, when a story came into my mind. I started to try to turn it into a song, but quickly realized it was much bigger than that. The next day, I went to a coffee shop, and started writing.  I worked on it off and on, and about a year later, I finished it, and moved on to other things.  About six months ago, I picked it up again, and did several more rounds of revising and editing.  The book, Puddly the Penguin, is now available through Amazon.com!, where it’s currently available for an introductory price of $4.95, or just .99 for Kindle. Over the coming weeks I’ll be working to get the word out about this story, that’s near and dear to my heart.  You can read reviews of the book, and check out the first 12 pages, on the story’s Amazon page.

Lyrics to The Mother’s Day Song:
Every day you keep me safe and warm and loved and fed
But today’s your special day, It was my turn instead
So I got up at 5 a.m. I’ve-been working hard since then
Some things I didn’t get quite right, next year I’ll try again

V2
Just for you I did my best to cut my own hair
Some places came out pretty good. And some are kind of bare
I washed all your nicest clothes, but the washer wasn’t free
So I used the dish washer Pretty smart of me!

CHORUS:
Remember no one’s perfect Every kid has faults
Remember it’s the thought that counts, more than the results
My heart was in the right place even though I did it wrong
It was all to say on Mother’s day my love for you is strong

V3
I vacuumed really quietly I didn’t use the power
I cleaned your dirty iPad screen, I held it in the shower
I painted all the ceilings it was easy with the mop
Now the carpet’s painted too with cool rainbow drops!

V4
I answered all your work emails with “Just leave me alone”
And we gave a prince from Scamdinavia a loan
I watered all the house plants with the garden hose
I forgot to turn it off sometimes that’s how it goes

CHORUS
V5
Your car’s shiny inside and out with lots of olive oil
Who knew that oatmeal splatters up so high and far on boil
I tried to make you orange juice but I spilled it on the floor
I tried to fry you bacon we don’t have a stove no more

V6
Since you can’t really cook this week I called the pizza place
I emptied out the fridge and freezer so there’s enough space
They should be here any time, two dozen pizza pies
I paid with your credit card, I hope that you’re surprised

CHORUS

Lyrics to the funny kids song, There’s a Dragon in my Wagon. Song by Bryant Oden.

Some people prefer dogs, and some people prefer cats
Some think a parakeet is sweet but that’s not where I’m at
Some people like pet bunnies, hamster and gerbils too
But my pet is the best yet believe me cuz it’s true

That’s why there’s a

CHORUS

Dragon in my wagon and his wagging tail is draggin
From the wagon On the pavement as I drag him down the street
There’s a dragon in my wagon and I don’t mean to be bragging
‘bout the best tail wagging dragon in a wagon you could meet

2
Some people like pet frogs and some people like pet snakes
For some a little fish or two is really all it takes
Some people like pet spiders. Or hermit crabs or snails
But they can’t breathe much fire and they don’t have ten foot tails
That’s why There’s a

CHORUS

3
Some people like pet ferrets and some people like pet skunks
But you have to de-stink them or steer clear of what they stunk
Chameleons and iguanas well they’re far too hard to spell
Turtles don’t like doing tricks and never change their shell
That’s why there’s a

CHORUS
4
Some people like pet hedgehogs but their quills can really sting
Some people like pet parrots but they skip words when they sing
Some people like pet raccoons even teach them how to flush
But then they sit and read in there when you are in a rush
That’s why there’s a……

Star Drops (A cool techno song based on Pachelbel’s Canon)

Star Drops is a cool new Songdrops techno instrumental, based on Pachelbel’s Canon, created by Bryant Oden, Chelsea Oden and Nathan Oden.
[There is a video that cannot be displayed in this feed. Visit the blog entry to see the video.]

A couple of summer’s ago, I spent some time with my nephew and niece, and we started creating this song. I finally got it finished this week, with the help of Scott Martin who added the drums and helped with mixing.
Pachelbel’s Canon is one of the most famous pieces of music. This song uses it as a starting point, but has its own melodies, structure and style. It was a lot of fun creating it, and I’m really pleased with how it came out. Much thanks to Nathan and Chelsea!

Free Classroom Skype Visits with Author/Singer Songwriter Bryant Oden

$

Schedule a 15 minute free Skype classroom visit with Bryant. (limited time and availability).

Skype visits are being used more and more as a great way to bring guests into your classroom that otherwise wouldn’t be able to visit. I have some spots available for free 15 minute classroom Skype visits in the coming weeks. These short visits don’t have a formal program, and have more a flavor of a casual meet and greet. I can talk a little about how I got started writing and recording kids songs, how posting a few songs on YouTube led to over 350 million YouTube views of my songs, what it was like when The Duck Song went viral, how I write a song, etc. I’m also open to a particular focus if that fits better with a topic your class is exploring.

No preparation is needed from the teacher or students, though it may be helpful to listen to or watch 1 or more of my songs on YouTube, and for students to think of a few questions they may want to ask.

To schedule, please email     visits @ songdrops.com     (spaces added to stop spambots)  with one or more times that would work for you. I’m uncertain of my future availability, so I’m only scheduling Skype visits between two days and two weeks in advance.

Please include:
1. The name of your city and school
2. Your time zone
3. Class size
4. Grade
5. In your time zone, one or more days and times that would work well
6. “I understand we do not have permission to record the Skype visit and agree not to.”

Maybe I’ll see you soon.  :)

Hello. If you found this page, you might be looking for an online ESL tutor who can help you improve your English conversation and pronunciation. I am best known for my funny successful Songdrops music career. But I have a Masters degree in Educational Psychology, with a focus on teaching ESL, and I still enjoy helping English students improve their pronunciation, conversational English and business English, when the opportunity arises. I know it can be hard to find a good English pronunciation online teacher. I am especially skilled at helping students improve pronunciation, with most students having very noticeable improvement within a couple of months.

These days, with Skype, Google Hangouts and other video tutoring programs, it’s easy to tutor ESL students from other countries. It is not hard to find someone to talk with online. But if you want to work with an experienced, trained, professional ESL tutor, in a way that’s fun, relaxed but also effective and efficient, please email me at ESL@ Songdrops.com.
I look forward to working with you.
